The goal today was to just get out. I decided to take the kids to Swallow Falls State Park in Maryland. It’s only a 45 minute drive from us so it’s very easy to make a day trip out of it.
We walked about 2 miles on the main trail to hit all the falls. For as full as the parking lot was and as busy as the trails were I am surprised at how people-free my photos came out. I could sit here and take pictures all day.
The Muddy Creek Falls were full despite the lack of water flowing form the top. I’m not really sure how that happens. In the summer you can’t get away without people everywhere; swimming, hiking, selfies and glamor shots. Today wasn’t so bad, but maybe because it was about 40ºF with a slight breeze. There was a large group of kayakers but they were had to get a picture of because every time they came down the river there was too much growth to get a good view. We could just see the colors of their kayaks float by.
And since the first time the kids were here they fell in the water immediately I call today a successful trip because no one got wet or fell off a cliff. #winning
